WHO WE NEED
We are seeking a Human Resources Intern to support ROM’s Human Resources team for Summer 2026. This full-time, grant-funded contract position, supported by the Ontario Summer Employment Opportunities (SEO) Program, offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of Human Resources at one of Canada’s leading cultural institutions.
In this role, you will support core HR functions, including Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, onboarding, employee engagement, wellness initiatives, and HR operations. Working closely with experienced HR professionals, you will contribute to initiatives that help foster a healthy, inclusive, and engaged workplace while supporting the teams that deliver ROM’s exhibitions, programs, research activities, and visitor experiences.
This opportunity is ideal for students or emerging HR professionals seeking practical experience in a fast-paced, public-facing organizational environment while developing transferable skills in recruitment coordination, workplace communications, employee engagement, and HR administration.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Support recruitment and onboarding activities, including posting job opportunities, coordinating interviews, preparing onboarding materials, and assisting with new hire processes.
- Assist with employee engagement and workplace wellness initiatives, including planning activities, preparing communications, and coordinating programs.
- Support HR projects and administrative initiatives related to Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, HR operations, and workplace culture initiatives.
- Assist with maintaining HR documentation, tracking information, and supporting reporting activities related to recruitment and employee engagement initiatives.
- Prepare internal communications, presentations, and employee-facing materials that support HR initiatives and organizational engagement.
- Collaborate with HR team members across multiple functional areas to support operational priorities and ongoing projects.
- Contribute to initiatives that support an inclusive, respectful, and positive workplace environment across the organization.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed post-secondary studies in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated interest in Human Resources, employee engagement, recruitment, workplace culture, or organizational operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Previous administrative, customer service, volunteer, or office experience is considered an asset.
