WHO WE NEED
The Leacross Foundation Internship Program is for a summer internship at ROM for female-identifying students, representing a partnership that will build and strengthen the careers of undergraduate scholars while advancing ROM’s position as a premier Canadian research institution. This internship position is within the Art & Culture Department, focusing on Ancient Greece & Rome collections.
As the Leacross Intern – Ancient Greece & Rome, you will provide essential support to our Associate Curator of Ancient Greece & Rome and Collection Specialist on projects centred around Greek coins. You will gain hands-on training using The Museum System (TMS) and acquire valuable daily experience in museum operations. Additionally, this position presents an excellent networking opportunity within the museum and academic fields, opening doors to future career pathways in art and culture.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Accurately enter data in The Museum System (TMS) collection database, flagging inconsistencies.
- Process digital photographs, digitize archival documents and attach them to TMS records.
- Assist with coin inventory: handle, rehouse, verify location, record condition & photograph.
- Assist with the development of protocols for numismatic photography using the Leica microscope.
- Compile an annotated bibliography about the metallurgical analysis of ancient coins.
- Conduct research on Greek coins as well as other topics as assigned.
- Provide regular updates to the Curator on research status and outcomes
- Assist Curator and Collections Specialist with additional projects and day-to-day activities.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Female-identifying, currently enrolled as an upper-level undergraduate student.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail are required.
- Familiarity with database work and digital photography is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and conduct ongoing research with minimal supervision.
- Experience in the proper handling of artworks and artifacts is an asset.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and research skills.
SALARY & TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- START DATE: May 20, 2025, to August 29, 2025
- OPEN DATE: March 12, 2025

- STATUS: Full-time Contract
- EMPLOYEE GROUP: Non-Union
- HOURLY RATE: $18.00
- SCHEDULE: 5 days a week, up to 35 hours weekly
