RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Take charge of the camp's daily operations, including supervising the camp's routine activities and ensuring smooth management of breaks and lunches for an organized and efficient camp environment.
  • Oversee the camp's budget, ensuring funds are allocated efficiently and effectively to cover all necessary expenses.
  • Handle the sourcing, acquisition, and inventory of camp supplies, ensuring all materials are in stock, accounted for, and ready for use.
  • Ensure all ROMKids spaces, including labs and galleries, are well-maintained and clean, creating a welcoming and safe environment for campers and staff.
  • Guarantee that all camp materials and activities comply with the highest health and safety standards and procedures, maintaining a secure environment for everyone.
  • Assist with the planning of staff schedules and the execution of payroll functions, ensuring all team members are appropriately compensated for their time and effort.
  • Oversee health and safety protocols, including first aid reporting, to promptly respond to incidents.
  • Collect, organize, and follow up on incident reports, taking necessary actions to address and mitigate issues.
  • Supervise lead assistants, assistant staff, and the volunteer team, providing guidance and leadership to ensure high performance and morale.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all caregiver inquiries and concerns, offering timely and empathetic responses.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed, including distributing T-shirts, handling registration requests, and managing pre-care or extended care services.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of experience in educational or camp settings and demonstrate a solid foundation in facilitating learning experiences for children.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills are imperative, ensuring positive interactions with campers, caregivers, and colleagues.
  • Proven leadership abilities are essential for effectively guiding and inspiring a team of staff and volunteers.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills are necessary to coordinate and execute various tasks and responsibilities efficiently.
  • The ability to handle moderate to heavy physical labor is required to effectively meet the demands of the camp environment.
  • Good conflict resolution skills are vital for effectively addressing and resolving any disputes or challenges that may arise.
  • Intermediate computer literacy is necessary for utilizing digital tools and software to support administrative tasks and communication.
  • Well-developed administrative skills are crucial for effectively managing paperwork, documentation, and other administrative duties.
  • Possession of First Aid/CPR certification is a definite asset, contributing to the safety and well-being of campers and staff in case of emergencies.
